Silenced for Asking Questions: How My Psychiatrist Allegedly Retaliated When I Asked About the Baker Act

When you seek medical help, you expect your doctor to listen, answer your questions, and uphold their oath to do no harm. What you don’t expect is for them to hang up on you and drop you as a patient the moment you ask about alleged systemic abuse in their field.

But that is exactly what happened to me today.

The Telehealth Appointment That Ended in Silence

Today, July 15, 2026, at 11:00 AM EDT, I had a scheduled telehealth appointment with Kevin Myirski, PA-C at Psychiatry of the Palm Beaches (561-402-3971). During the appointment, I decided to ask him a simple, direct question: What do you know about the Baker Act?

His response was evasive. He told me he “believes in helping people.”

I pressed further. I informed him that my legal team and I are preparing to subpoena everyone allegedly involved in my case for depositions. I told him I want to know exactly what doctors know about the alleged Baker Act abuse system — a system that allegedly traps vulnerable people in psychiatric facilities for profit.

Instead of answering, or even engaging in a professional dialogue, Kevin Myirski allegedly hung up on me. He then refused to continue seeing me as a patient.

Before the line went dead, I made one thing clear: I put him on notice not to attempt to Baker Act me in alleged retaliation for my questions.

Alleged Retaliation for Seeking the Truth

Why would a medical professional drop a patient simply for asking about a legal procedure designed for psychiatric emergencies? In my view, this is alleged blatant retaliation. It is an attempt to silence a patient who is getting too close to the truth.

I believe that some doctors are allegedly violating their oaths, participating in a system allegedly designed to keep people locked in mental hospitals not for their well-being, but for financial gain. When you ask questions about this system, the response isn’t transparency — it’s stonewalling, abandonment, and the implicit threat of being institutionalized yourself.

The Broader Alleged Pattern of Abuse

This incident does not happen in a vacuum. It is part of a much larger, darker picture of alleged psychiatric abuse in Florida.

Consider the facility where I was allegedly wrongfully held during my second Baker Act experience: Port St. Lucie Behavioral Health Center. This facility is owned by Oglethorpe Inc. On May 27, 2026, the U.S. Department of Justice announced a massive $32 million False Claims Act settlement against Oglethorpe and its top executives.

The DOJ’s allegations? That Oglethorpe allegedly and knowingly failed to return Medicare overpayments for patients admitted to its psychiatric facilities who did not qualify for inpatient psychiatric care. In other words, they were allegedly admitting people who didn’t need to be there and billing the government for it. As a result, Oglethorpe and its executives have been hit with a 10-year exclusion from Medicare, Medicaid, and all federal healthcare programs, effective July 2026.

When you understand that there are millions of dollars allegedly at stake in keeping beds full, the sudden silence of a psychiatrist asked about the Baker Act becomes chillingly clear.

All Doctors Are On Notice

Let me be absolutely clear: I am putting all doctors, psychiatrists, and medical professionals allegedly involved in the Baker Act system on notice.

If you are allegedly participating in a system that wrongfully strips citizens of their rights, forcibly drugs them, and holds them against their will for profit, you will be exposed. We are preparing subpoenas. We are preparing depositions. We will uncover what you know, when you knew it, and how you allegedly benefited from it.

Hanging up the phone will not stop the truth from coming out.
